My reading memories.
Quote from Erin Joyce on May 4, 2023, 1:32 amLinda sat in her favorite armchair, gazing wistfully out the window. She was lost in thought, her mind wandering back to a time long ago, when her daughter Sarah was just a little girl.
As she reminisced, Linda remembered the countless hours they had spent together, snuggled up on the couch, reading Sarah's favorite books. She could still hear her daughter's infectious laughter as they read silly stories and made up characters.
Sarah was all grown up now, with a family of her own. But Linda still cherished those precious memories of reading to her daughter. She had always felt that reading was the greatest gift she could give Sarah, a way to spark her imagination and instill a lifelong love of learning.
Linda's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the front door opening. She looked up to see Sarah and her grandchildren bounding in, their faces beaming with excitement.
"Grandma! Grandma! We brought some books to read!" Sarah's youngest son exclaimed, holding up a stack of colorful picture books.
Linda's heart swelled with joy. She realized that the tradition of reading together had been passed down to the next generation. As she sat with her grandchildren and opened the books, she felt a deep sense of gratitude for the time she had spent reading with Sarah so many years ago.
As they read together, Linda felt a renewed sense of connection to her daughter and grandchildren. And as they turned the pages and explored new worlds together, Linda knew that the gift of reading was something that would continue to bring them all closer together for many years to come.
In that moment, Linda realized that the true beauty of reading was not just in the stories themselves, but in the memories and connections they created. She closed her eyes and smiled, grateful for the power of a good book to bring people together and create lasting bonds.

Quote from Ted Sloan on May 31, 2023, 7:52 pmAfter reading this, I have similar memories of reading with my parents when I was young. I also loved sitting in the green arm chair in my parents bedroom reading bedtime stories. I can still remember picking my favorite books which we read over and over...what a great lasting memory!
